Company and professional profiles on UAE Advisor Guide carry small badges. Some tell you what we have checked. Others tell you that a listing is paid for. This page explains each one, what we do before it appears, and what it does not mean.
Paid tiers buy visibility and profile features. They never buy a verdict on quality, and they never buy the Verified badge.
1. Company Badges
- Unclaimed profile. We built this profile from public records, including the regulator's register where the company is regulated. The company has not claimed it, so it has not supplied or checked any of the information.
- Claimed. The company has taken ownership of its profile. Before we hand a profile over, we confirm that the request comes from the company itself. From then on the company supplies its own details and keeps them up to date with us.
- Verified. We have confirmed the company's regulatory status directly with its regulator, checked its entry on the regulator's public register, and checked its legal name, registration number and registered address against official records. The regulation section of a Verified profile reads "Verified by UAE Advisor Guide directly with the [regulator]".
- Gold Partner. A paid tier, with more profile features and a place in the Featured Companies section of its category hub page. Every Gold Partner has passed the Verified checks first.
2. Professional Badges
- Verified. We have checked the professional's identity, their current employer, and each qualification, membership and award shown on the profile, against documents held on file. A credential does not appear until we have seen the evidence for it. Those documents are never published.
- Spotlight Advisor and Gold Advisor. Paid tiers, with more profile features and, for Gold, a place in the Featured Professionals section of the category hub page.
- Expert Contributor. The professional has written an article for us. Contributed articles are labelled as such and play no part in any ranking or comparison.
Verification does not extend to testimonials. Those follow our Testimonial Policy: we do not verify them, and the professional confirms each one.
3. Paid and Earned
The Verified tier for companies carries a fee, because the checks take real work. The fee pays for the checks, not for the result. If a company does not pass, it is not marked Verified.
Gold and Spotlight are bought. They affect where a listing appears and what it can show, and nothing else. They have no effect on our articles, comparisons or rankings, as set out in our Editorial Independence and Linking Policy. Every paid placement on a hub page is labelled as such.
4. What Verification Does Not Mean
- It is not a recommendation of the company or professional, or of any product or service they offer.
- It says nothing about investment performance, fees or whether a service is suitable for you.
- It is not an approval by any regulator. Regulators do not endorse firms, and we do not speak for them.
- It is not a substitute for your own checks. We link to the regulator's register from every regulated profile, so you can confirm the position yourself.
5. How Long a Badge Lasts
Every profile shows the date we last checked it. We re-check each Verified profile at least once a year, at renewal, and straight away when we learn of a change, such as a regulator's action, a change of licence, or a professional leaving their firm.
If a licence is withdrawn or suspended, or a check no longer holds, we remove the Verified badge and update the profile. Badges always show a listing's current tier on our site, paid or unpaid.
6. The Verified Partner Badge on Other Websites
Our partner firms may display a "Verified Partner - UAE Advisor Guide" badge on their own websites. Partners pay us a listing fee. The badge is issued only after the firm has passed the Verified checks described above.
- Each badge shows the year it was issued, and is re-issued each year on renewal.
- Each badge links to the firm's profile on this site, where you can see its current status and the date we last checked it.
- A badge showing a past year, or one that does not lead to a current profile here, is no longer valid.
7. Report a Problem
If a badge looks wrong, a profile is out of date, or you see our badge used where it should not be, please tell us.
